July 14, 2005

Cpl. Mounce, Cpl. Winchester you will never be forgotten. Your brothers strive every day to prove that while the war that you all fought may not have made the difference that you had planned, your deaths and the reasons that you went and fought anyway did. You are heroes, you are the best kind of Americans and your deaths have had a profound influence not only on your brothers but their families as well. Today, on the fifth anniversary of your deaths I am struck by how far we have come and how much we have learned since that day. Our paths through life were irrevocably altered when you were killed.

You were friends,
you were brothers of the heart,
you were outstanding men,
and you were Marines!

Semper Fi Devil Dogs, may you never be forgotten!
