So I talked before about my free dresser from Craig's List. It's the one that was missing a drawer. I definitely think that the girl that I got it from thought I was at least half crazy! But...I was so not passing up on this mid-cent mod dresser for free. Drawer or not. After driving through the rain and getting it home and staring at it for awhile, the hubby and I went to Home Depot and got some quarter round and some thin pine paneling and got to work recreating a drawer front. After we did that I realized that my original plan of staining the new front was not going to work. The color is a hard one to match and it is more of a veneer than solid wood on the fronts and it doesn't have a definite grain so the pine took the stain more than the other drawer fronts and it just wasn't looking like I imagined. SO...I decided to paint all of the drawer fronts. I went to HD again and got my paint and got them done during nap time. Which is always a plus! So here is my new old, dresser! I couldn't love it more!
Now I need to go and get those 3M picture hangers that are like Velcro. I don't want to put holes in my wallpaper and I have a few pictures that need to go up on the wall with Uncle Buck:) Maybe this week the pictures will go up so I can be completely finished with this project...for now.

Mine!
Loving this lamp! It's going to look perfect on top of my new dresser...I just painted the drawers! Once they dry I will post pictures! I am quite proud of it as it was a free Craig's List find and it was missing a drawer:)
I am also thinking about doing a little something like this on the wall behind it...not too sure yet.
Either way I am excited for a little pre-fall change!

Girl's Day= LOVE

Went here first and got the best pedicure I think that I have ever had. Wish I was rich so I could go every week....or even semi rich so I could go every two weeks:)

Ate here. One of my favorite pizza places! Making me hungry thinking about it now! I think we should all have girl days at least once a month so we can stay centered and sane!
Somehow though I came home with a sore throat! Not exactly the ending that I had planned but with a day like that I am SO not complaining!

There is no truer love...
{Than that of a little girl for her daddy}
I sure love these two...and I can't wait for my summer class to be over so I can see them for more than a few hours a day:) I'm hoping for some family time before classes start in the Fall! Although I cannot tell a lie! I am SO looking forward to Fall and all the lovely things that come with it!
We made granola last night in anticipation of this 105 degree weather going away!
{After School Granola}
3 c rolled oats
1 c mixed nuts and dried fruit
(I like the premixed kind in the bulk organic section myself)
Pinch of salt and cinnamon and my secret weapon CLOVES
1 tbsp veg oil
4 tbsp agave nectar (or honey)
{Mix all of this together and then bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Stir and let cool and then enjoy!}
