I'm sure that you've seen this hallway before! It is the most used room in our house by far and the floors show that. They are pine, which is apparently a very soft wood. So, combine that with two big dogs and a toddler and they were just falling apart. I decided rather than spend the thousand dollars...that we don't have:)... on new floors I would fill the bad spots and paint them! Here's a before...
And a few afters. One with a very beautiful and happy model:) She was very excited about this project! Can you tell? Oh and please excuse the spots on the picture...my very happy model was the previous operator of the camera and it has juice spots on the lens as proof!

It seems she snuck into the bottom of this picture as well...like I said she was excited to show off this project!
I still have to finish off the edges of the white. Since it is a wood floor, the cracks led to lots of running paint...but all in all I am a happy camper and the floors look a million times better!!!PS: I have no clue why blogger is making the first bit a link...silly blogger...I am 100% sure it is not me and my lack of blogger skills:)

I stumbled on your blog and just had to comment. Hubby and I did the very same thing to our floors in our previous home. I painted them the same brown and did a diamond pattern under the dinning table. I wish I had taken pics! It was really pretty, but easily scratched up even with the varnish. :(

What a creative solution to your problem, and they look great! I'm sure it was a lot of work, but it looks like it was worth the effort.
That looks so great- and how great to get a creative and custom look for SO much less then just refinishing them or replacing them. Especially while you have a little one and dogs!!
